About Carl Hughes
Hughes Moto Art was founded in 2006 by Carl Hughes in Tucson, Az. With a true passion for art and motorcycles, it was only natural for Carl to pick up the airbrush in the early 90's. For the next few years his airbrush skills were honed and his knowledge of automotive paints and materials grew. Earning a little extra money and experience custom painting motorcycles while going to school, eventually Carl graduated the University of Arizona with a bachelors degree in fine art. His desire to remain in the custom paint industry led him to Phoenix as an artist at a high end production motorcycle paint shop. There he met and worked with some of the best in the business, making relationships that continue to this day. Moving back home to Tucson in early 2000, Carl then shifted careers to aviation where he worked as an industrial designer gaining invaluable experience and knowledge of the computer.
The love for custom paint and airbrush was in his blood and he brought some of the modern trends and styles back home to continue custom painting on the side. After 5 years of only doing custom work part time, he had to get back in the game. Carl then had an opportunity in Phoenix to be the art director for one of the nations largest and most reputible custom paint shops. The experience was invaluable on many levels, but it was time for Carl to go out on his own, and Hughes Moto Art began. Hughes Moto Art specializes in custom airbrush and design - driven by a passion engrained in our souls.
